The position requires an understanding of accounting and corporate finance, financial modeling and analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities. You would be working on transactions involving software, business services, consumer products, healthcare and industrial products companies.  Your role would be to provide project management, critical research, analysis and general professional support throughout the complex merger and acquisition process, as well as supporting partners in their deal origination efforts. The successful candidate will be intelligent, ownership mentality, mature, hard-working, resourceful, intellectually versatile, persistent and interpersonally skilled. Typical assignments include:


  • researching and preparing pitch books for new business development and client marketing activities
  • drafting merger and acquisition research reports
  • building complex valuation models for M&A transactions and valuation projects
  • synthesizing various data sources to distill and present key operational metrics
  • interfacing with client and team members to develop the positioning for and management of the client documentation process
  • support of transaction negotiations, bid processes, online data rooms and due diligence activities on behalf of clients


The ideal candidate possesses a degree in finance, accounting or business and has 3-5 years’ work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or commercial banking. Candidate must be self-motivated, proactive and professional, must consistently produce on-time, high quality work product, and be prepared to work in a fast-moving environment that can require long hours but provides significant job satisfaction.

Marketing Specialist

Mirus Capital Advisors, a leading middle-market investment bank, is looking for a marketing specialist in its Burlington, Massachusetts office. We believe this position will require 30-35 hrs. +/- per week.  Job responsibilities include:


  • Create and execute a lead generation campaign strategy to maximize quality “deal flow” (number of prospective clients that would be suitable clients for the firm). Strategies include the following:
    • Research, identify, and negotiate targeted event sponsorship opportunities
    • Research, identify, and arrange speaking engagements
    • Research, identify, and facilitate the drafting and placement of articles in appropriate publications
    • Oversee preparation and dissemination of company newsletters (monthly and quarterly)
    • Administer, execute, and evaluate multi-channel marketing campaigns
    • Maintain up-to-date corporate website
    • Monitor corporate collateral and revise to keep current
    • Maintain and update both editorial calendar and marketing event calendar
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies for marketing outreach (e.g. webinars, e-mail campaign management, RSS)
    • Plan and oversee annual cocktail reception or equivalent thereof
  • Brand promotion
    • Develop and execute outbound marketing campaigns
    • Administer limited advertising budget to maximize value
    • Update and maintain Mirus social sites
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend technologies and services for promoting Mirus as a thought leader to relevant industry publications
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend purchases of custom gifts and corporate “giveaways” (e.g. Mirus umbrella)
  • Measure results
    • Implement tracking methods for evaluating lead generation and brand promotion activities
    • Report results to partners on a regular and predetermined basis
  • Miscellaneous
    • Help cleanse, build and maintain database of corporate contacts


The successful candidate will satisfy the following prerequisites:


  • Bachelor’s in Marketing or equivalent
  • 3-7 years’ experience implementing marketing programs, preferably for a professional services firm
  • Experience and comfort in a relatively unstructured small-company environment
