The position requires an understanding of accounting and corporate finance, financial modeling and analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities. You would be working on transactions involving software, business services, consumer products, healthcare and industrial products companies.  Your role would be to provide project management, critical research, analysis and general professional support throughout the complex merger and acquisition process, as well as supporting partners in their deal origination efforts. The successful candidate will be intelligent, ownership mentality, mature, hard-working, resourceful, intellectually versatile, persistent and interpersonally skilled. Typical assignments include:

 

  • researching and preparing pitch books for new business development and client marketing activities
  • drafting merger and acquisition research reports
  • building complex valuation models for M&A transactions and valuation projects
  • synthesizing various data sources to distill and present key operational metrics
  • interfacing with client and team members to develop the positioning for and management of the client documentation process
  • support of transaction negotiations, bid processes, online data rooms and due diligence activities on behalf of clients

 

The ideal candidate possesses a degree in finance, accounting or business and has 3-5 years’ work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or commercial banking. Candidate must be self-motivated, proactive and professional, must consistently produce on-time, high quality work product, and be prepared to work in a fast-moving environment that can require long hours but provides significant job satisfaction.

Analyst – Investment Banking

Mirus Capital Advisors, a middle-market investment bank in Burlington, Massachusetts, is looking for an analyst with corporate finance and research skills to join our team.

 

The position requires an understanding of accounting and corporate finance, modeling and analytical skills, and strong communication skills. You would be working on transactions involving software, business services, and industrial products companies.  Your role would be to provide critical research, analysis and general professional support throughout the complex merger and acquisition process. The successful candidate will be intelligent, mature, hard-working, resourceful, intellectually versatile, persistent, savvy about marketing, and interpersonally skilled. Typical assignments include:

 

  • identify and research prospective buyers for sell-side clients (or prospective targets for buy-side clients), applying criteria in a disciplined but thoughtful way
  • build a discounted cash-flow model for a client to help support a position about that client’s value in an M&A transaction
  • research the key players in an industry segment and build a market map to show how they differentiate themselves from one another
  • prepare a table of publicly-traded companies that are comparable to a prospective client, and perform research and analysis to determine a prospective valuation range for the prospective client

 

The ideal candidate possesses an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or business and has 2-4 years’ work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, and/or sales. Candidate must be a self-motivated, proactive professional, prepared to work in a fast-moving environment that can require long hours but provides significant job satisfaction.
