This month, the multi-billion dollar outsourcing firm Aegis closed on the acquisition of Symphony BPO, first announced in January.
“This is a great opportunity for Aegis as we expand our presence in Malaysia,” said Sandip Sen, Global CEO of Aegis in a Company press release. “We believe that the business combination will enhance value for our customers and employees. Aegis is well positioned for growth and geographic expansion as we deliver on our mission to become a leader in the global BPO market,” Mr Sen added.
Symphony is middling BPO firm with just under 1,000 employees in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. Symphony’s long-term clients in banking, insurance, tourism and the telecom industry are a fit with Aegis’ own global market focus. Further, the acquisition provides Aegis with strengthened domain expertise and language capabilities across Bahasa, Mandarin, English, Japanese and Korean.
Sudhir Agarwal, President, Global M&A and Strategic Initiatives, said, “Symphony’s domain expertise, marquee client base, client service-driven culture, and process-driven experience in customer lifecycle management and finance & accounting will be integrated into our business to provide even stronger service delivery capabilities.”
