Investment Banking Associate

Location: Burlington, MA (On-site, full-time)

Mirus Capital Advisors, one of the largest independent, middle market investment banking firms in New England, seeks to hire an Associate in its mergers & acquisitions advisory group.

Do you want to work in a collegial and collaborative investment banking culture with a group of smart, experienced deal makers who roll up their sleeves and work alongside you? Do you want to be part of a flat organization where your voice is not only heard but can lead to real impact for our clients? If this type of opportunity resonates with you, we are looking for a professional with 3-4 years of experience in the investment banking or private equity industries to join our growing team.

The position requires an understanding of accounting and corporate finance, modeling and analytical skills, and strong communication skills. You would be working on transactions involving software, consumer products, healthcare, business services, and industrial companies. Your role would be to provide critical research, analysis and general professional support throughout the complex merger and acquisition process. Typical assignments include:

  • researching and preparing pitch books for new business development and client marketing activities
  • drafting merger and acquisition research reports
  • building complex M&A financial models
  • synthesizing various data sources to distill and present key operational metrics
  • interfacing with client and team members to develop the positioning for and management of the client documentation process
  • supporting transaction negotiations, bid processes, online data rooms and due diligence activities on behalf of our clients

The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business and has 3-4 years’ work experience in investment banking or private equity. The candidate must be a self-motivated, proactive professional, prepared to work in a fast-moving environment.
