Mirus completes valuation engagement for Emulex
On December 8, 2000, Emulex announced its intention to acquire Giganet for $645 million. Giganet, a privately-held developer of Internet-based storage networking equipment, was owned by a group of individual investors, of which some 20 did not meet the NASD criteria as “accredited investors”. The shareholder group was required to engage a financial advisor before the deal could be completed. Mirus Capital Advisors was engaged by the Giganet shareholders, and provided a valuation opinion.
