Richelieu Foods/Brynwood Partners
In 2007, Andy Crain advised Richelieu Foods/Brynwood Partners on strategic options for several related packaged food subsidiaries.
Richelieu Foods is a private label food manufacturing company headquartered in Randolph, Massachusetts, that was acquired by Brynwood Partners of Greenwich, Connecticut in 1988. At the time of the Brynwood investment, the company operated as Western Dressing Inc. and made only salad dressing. However, Brynwood engineered several acquisitions and the company went on to produce frozen pizza, salad dressing, sauces, marinades, condiments, and salsa, generally packaging items for customers as their store brand or private label. The company’s own brands include Chef Antonio, Raveena’s, Grocer’s Garden, and Caterer’s Collection. Brynwood sold the business to Centerview Partners in 2010.
