BOSTON, Mass. – January 1, 2014 – ACG Boston, the Boston Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), announced its new chapter President & CEO, Peter Alternative, a Partner at Mirus Capital Advisors.

Alternative brings over 15 years of experience advising middle market, technology-based companies. He has been a financial advisor to both public and closely-held companies on divestitures, capital raising, recapitalizations, strategic acquisitions, mergers and cross-border transactions. He has managed and closed twenty-five engagements with companies in numerous segments of information technology and technology-enabled services.

Before joining Mirus, Peter was a financial analyst for CFO Strategies, a Boston-based financial consulting firm that provides interim CFO services to venture-funded technology startups. While at CFO Strategies, he worked with several portfolio companies of Bessemer Ventures and Charles River Ventures across a variety of industries, including telecommunications and enterprise software. “As a deal maker, my investment in ACG continues to pay significant dividends with regards to business development and my professional development, as only ACG can do.  As such, I welcomed the opportunity to lead the organization forward.   As incoming President, I look forward to working with the Board of Directors to continue ACG Boston’s evolution,” said Alternative. “Based on feedback from our membership, ACG pivoted last year and became an approval chapter, ensuring that all incoming members are active participants in deal making.   One of my primary goals for 2014 will be to continue to strengthen ACG’s core community of deal professionals.  While ACG will continue to innovate to provide the best possible value proposition for its members, success will require improved engagement from the broader ACG community.   I hope the community will join me, the Board of Directors, and its talented staff to ensure that ACG Boston continues its long established reputation as one of the most dynamic and thriving ACG chapters.”

Ben Procter, a Partner at The Watermill Group, is the outgoing president & CEO and has served in that capacity for three years.  “Ben’s commitment to building a more focused community of deal professionals is evident in the caliber of our membership,” said Christy Dancause, Executive Director at ACG Boston.  “He successfully executed his vision to not only strengthen our member community, but also engage the next generation of dealmakers, positioning ACG Boston for sustainability and growth in the years to come.”
