Peter Alternative Quoted in MergerMarket’s Mid Year Review

Peter Alternative, a partner at Mirus Capital, expects to see a lot of activity in the SMAC (social mobile analytics cloud) category. “There is a serious land grab for the best technologies in this area,” he said, noting that Twitter, Yahoo, and Facebook are buying outsourced R&D talent  and New England is a great source for that kind of deal. He pointed to Twitter’s recent acquisitions of two Cambridge, Massachusetts-based companies, Bluefin Labs, a social TV analytics company, and Crashlytics, focused on mobile software and bug-fixing for app developers, as noteworthy deals in this space.
